HABITAT for HUMANITY/THRIVENT BUILDS

Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans have formed a partnership to build 500 homes a year nationwide by 2008.  Each chapter will have a “chapter specialist” to coordinate this effort. Habitat has acquired a lot in Fleetwood for a home build in 2007, if agreed upon by Habitat and Thrivent.

Hot Chicken Casserole Recipe from Tanzania Luncheon

Main Ingredients:

• 2 cups cooked chicken, cubed
• 1 cup celery, chopped
• 1 cup cooked rice
• ¾ cup mayonnaise
• 1 tsp onion, chopped
• 1 tsp salt
• 3 hard cooked eggs, sliced
• 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
• and drained
• 1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
• Topping: ½ cup slivered almonds with crushed potato chips or corn flakes

Mix main ingredients and place in a 2 quart greased casserole. Add topping. Bake uncovered @ 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
