Pastor Bob Machamer was born in 1959, graduated from Grove City College in 1981, attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and received a Masters of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia in 1986. He completed a post-graduate program at Penn Council for Relationships, University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Family Studies. He is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and is licensed in the State of Pennsylvania as a Marriage and Family Therapist. In May of 2004 he will be awarded a doctorate in marriage and family.
Pastor Bob was ordained on January 18, 1987. He served as the Assistant to the Pastor of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Akron Ohio until 1989 when he was called by the ELCA Division for Outreach and Appointed by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA as mission developer of New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church which was organized in 1991. On July 1, 2002 Pastor Bob began serving as the pastor of St. Paul’s.
Regarding family, Pastor Bob has stated that, “My family are a source of refreshment, strength and love. Jean and I have enjoyed thirteen years of marriage and have experienced the shaping of our lives in such a way that we have security, strength, support and encouragement to pursue God’s call for our life together as well as in our vocational calling.”
