Pastor Bob Machamer completed his undergraduate degree at Grove City College, and was graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (MDiv) and Palmer Theological Seminary (DMin). He completed a post-graduate program in marriage and family therapy specializing in couples and sex therapy at Penn Council for Relationships in Philadelphia. He is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and is licensed in the State of Pennsylvania as a Marriage and Family Therapist. He is currently completing the requirements as an Approved Supervisor for the AAMFT. He has additional training in intentional interim ministry, mediation and coaching.
Pastor Bob was ordained on January 18, 1987. He served as the Assistant to the Pastor of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Akron Ohio until 1989 when he was called by the ELCA Division for Outreach and appointed by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA as mission developer of New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church which was organized in 1991. On July 1, 2002 Pastor Bob began serving as the pastor of St. Paul’s.
Pastor Bob enjoys the work of transformational ministry and organizational renewal, and brings a joy for working playfully with commitment and determination toward discovering and nurturing a passion for serving Jesus Christ. His leadership style invites and encourages health and maturation. His experience in developing and redeveloping congregations is based in a belief that when we work together we are able to maximize positive impact for the sake of the kingdom of God
