Baptism 11/08/09 - Erin, our Choir director, had her baby baptized this morning.

October 2009: The Potato Project was held at the Walt and Linda Zawaski farmette. Walt & Linda Zawaski 1892 Moselem Springs Road, Route 662, Richmond Twp., Hamburg, PA 19526. Fifteen of our Cat Class and seven adults dug for spuds! There were 2 acres of potatoes and Walt thought we’d be able to harvest 8 rows!!! We did 4 rows. We picked up the potatoes after Walt used his tractor with a special tool on it to dig them up. We used hoes and four tined forks to dig for more potatoes. We washed and wiped off the potatoes. The potatoes were put into five pound bags. There were regular sized potatoes, new ones and baby ones too! There were 172 bags of potatoes delivered to Betty Quire for the Fleetwood Food Pantry. What is truly amazing is the Zawaski’s planted these potatoes to help feed the hungry. They have other church groups coming to dig to help feed others in the community. We had homemade French fries prepared by some of our Cat Class with the help of Linda. They were goooooooood and it was gooooooooood to help others too!

Baptism 7/5/09

Creation 2008! About 30 youths and adults camped at the Creation 2008 Christian Music Event in Mt Union, PA.

   In September 2007, eight members from St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church traveled to Bulongwa, Tanzania, Africa. St. Paul’s has a companion congregation relationship with the Lutheran Church in Bulongwa (pics below). The Lutheran church in Bulongwa is part of the South Central Diocese (SCD) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania (ELCT). The church of Bulongwa, Tanzania works with St. Paul’s, Fleetwood, together in many shared ministries, supporting the needs of the people of Bulongwa and the needs of the people of St. Paul’s. Meeting the needs of the orphans, supporting the schools, supplying electricity to Bulongwa, setting up a mill to grind their grain, singing and dancing together, teaching us to grow in our relationship in Christ, meeting their Pastor/Doctor’s transportation needs with a motorbike are but a few of the ministries we share!  Mission trips were made to Bulongwa in September 2005 and September 2007. A mission trip is tentatively planned to go to Bulongwa in September 2009.
